I recently rediscovered this gem of a diagram from what feel like days long past. Most of the up and coming generation will have no experience with it. Still found on generous budgets and in the hands of boutique hipsters. It's FILM. Oddly enough the thing most retired loaders miss is the smell, the stock unique odor of the emulsion. I miss the pearly sheen of fresh Visions 2 and 3. While smelling and looking are fun, they hardly cover the trick of the trade--it all happens in the dark. Apart from the lightly gymnastic loading requirements of the A-Minima, this displacement mag was the hardest I've had to load...repeatedly...as fast as they could shoot them...on a long commercial shoot. For those of you not familiar with the Aaton 35-III, it is a sync 35mm camera which "sits like a cat on your shoulder". It is actually pretty great for HH work and a very quick camera to keep going (just make sure the loop is good and that the mag did in fact click in).
